The Assembly has received equipment under the District Road Improvement programme (DRIP) initiative by the government and has taken a significant step towards enhancing the skills of DRIP drivers.

The machines include tipper trucks, backhoes, water tankers, rollers, motor graders, wheel loaders, bulldozers, low beds and concrete mixers.

As part of this initiative, the Assembly has also provided training for the drivers of these equipment, focusing on safety protocols and maintenance best practices to ensure optimal performance of the machines and reduce vehicle breakdown and accidents.

The training aims to ensure that the drivers can operate the equipment efficiently and safely. This initiative is vital in ensuring the implementation of the drip initiative which aims to improve the road infrastructure in the municipality

The Municipal Chief Executive Hon Ansu Kumi said it is crucial to establish a maintenance schedule for routine task such as cleaning, lubricating and inspection of the equipment as well ensuring regular monitoring against damage or malfunction which are essential for the longevity of the machines.

By investing in the training and development of the DRIP drivers, the Sunyani Municipal Assembly is taking the proactive step towards promoting a culture of safety among drivers, ultimately benefiting the community they serve.
