The Sunyani Municipal Department of Agriculture, has held a day’s sensitization workshop to educate stakeholders on the Phase 2.0 (PFJ 2.0) of the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative, introduced by the government in 2017.

In the opening address the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Ansu Kumi said that, the PFJ 2.0 as the second phase of the Planting for Food and Jobs program, has been carefully thought through and will use a holistic approach to address the challenges of phase one for a successful programme.

The Municipal Director of Agric, Mr. Patrick Dela Newman explained that the PFJ 2.0 program, is a continuation of the PFJ phase 1.0 and that, it is a government’s flagship agricultural program aimed at boosting food production, improving farmer incomes, and enhancing food security across the country.

He said, the PFJ 2.0 program will build on the successes of the initial phase to maximize impact and that, the sensitization program is to ensure that, all key stakeholders, including farmers, extension officers, local government officials, and Agriculture input dealers are well-informed about the details and benefits of PFJ 2.0.
