The Sunyani Municipal Assembly (SMA) has taken a proactive step in promoting the health and well-being of its staff by organizing a breast cancer screening exercise.
The exercise, held at the Assembly's Hall, provided free screening services for 56 staff members. A team of health workers from the Municipal Health Directorate conducted the breast examinations.
Hon. Ansu Kumi, Municipal Chief Executive of Sunyani, emphasized the Assembly's commitment to staff welfare. "We prioritize the health and well-being of our staff and this initiative demonstrates our dedication to their care." He encouraged the staff to take advantage of the opportunity, stating, "Early detection is crucial in the fight against Breast Cancer."
Mr. Isaac Boakye, the Human Resource Manager at SMA, revealed that the Assembly has initiated a weekly health screening exercise for staff of the assembly and that the initiative aligns with the Assembly's goal of fostering a healthy work environment and promoting staff well-being.
The screening exercise began with an educational sessions on breast cancer awareness, risk factors, and self-examination techniques. Staff members were encouraged to ask questions and seek guidance from healthcare professionals.
Staff members expressed gratitude for the initiative, praising the Assembly's proactive approach to health.
