The queen mother of the Sunyani traditional council, Nana Akosua Dua Asor Sika Brayie II, in collaboration with the Sunyani Municipal Assembly, Council of Bono and Ahafo Association of North America (COBANA) and Zoom Lion Ghana Limited on Saturday, 27th May, 2023 organized a clean-up exercise to tidy up the Sunyani Municipality. This was the second edition of the monthly clean up exercise dubbed OMANHEMAA APRAPRA. The second edition was themed “OPERATION CLEAN YOUR FRONTAGE” In attendance was the Queen mother of Sunyani, Nana Akosua Dua Asor Brayie II, Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, Members of Council of Bono and Ahafo Association of North America (COBANA), Personnel from the Security Services, Various Fun Club and Associations, Zoom Lion Company Limited, and the Media.

The clean-up exercise started around 6:30 am in the morning and ended at exactly 12 noon in the afternoon. Cleaning items such as brooms, rakes, wheelbarrows, shovels, gloves were used. the leadership of the exercise grouped the participants into 10 groups and each and every group was assigned to a particular area and was led by personnel from the security services.

Speaking to the information services department, the queen mother of Sunyani, Nana Akosua Dua Asor Brayie II stated that as compared to the first edition of the cleanup exercise, she has seen massive improvement and participation from the people of sunyani. Nana Asor Brayie added that as part of her commitment as a queen mother she will make sure sunyani becomes the cleanest city in the Ghana and Africa as a whole. She therefore urged the entire citizenry to keep their frontage clean frequently to help make the entire city clean.

Hon. Ansu Kumi, the Municipal Chief Executive also expressed how delighted he was to see the queen’s mother embarking on such a beautiful exercise. He added that, the assembly will also provide various tools and equipment’s that will help keep the city clean and thank the members of COBAANA for joining this great imitative.

Madam Juliet Appiah Amponsah, who happens to be the chapter president of the Council of Bono and Ahafo Association of the North America as expressed their profound gratitude as an association for participating in the cleanup exercise. She entreated the citizens to keep of helping and supporting the dreams of the Sunyani Traditional council so that the aims and goals will be achieved.

Participants from various companies, institutions, associations, fun clubs, and individuals urged the Queen mother and the Assembly to always come together and organize such exercises that will help develop the city of Sunyani.

The exercise successfully ended around 12 noon, and water and other beverages were shared to all participants who were available at the program.
